Back In The Saddle…Again

Okay, it’s time to get back to serious blogging. I have been writing every day but I haven’t been giving my full attention since before camp two weeks ago. Some of it was unavoidable. I was at camp for a week and I didn’t want to take away from time there. Last week was my first week back and I was playing catch up with Bible study. I also had to teach Sunday School this past weekend and I usually don’t do that. On top of everything else, I had a wedding to officiate. Friday night was the rehearsal and dinner and then Saturday was the actual service and reception. That pretty much took up my entire weekend but that’s okay, it comes with the job.

Monday and Tuesday were designated family days. I kept my word to Chris on Monday and took him to see Jurassic World. I have already mentioned that here on the blog so I won’t go into any more detail. We had a great time and I enjoyed the alone time we shared. Yesterday was Movie Day Part Two. We all went to eat Chinese in Sayre and then drive back up to Endicott, NY. I talked about that yesterday so I won’t rehash it here. I am still thinking about Inside Out and I really am convinced that Pixar is making movies differently than they were in their early days. I discuss that a little on the podcast today and I may delve into it deeper at a later date. We’ll see.

I still haven’t been able to sit down and seriously read Crash The Chatterbox. It’s  one of the books I got for free so that I could review it. It seems like every time I sit down to read, something distracts me. I don’t usually have this problem so I’m not sure what’s different this time. It’s not as if this is a long or tedious read. It’s relatively short and is written in a style similar to most of the religious books that I read. This isn’t a dusty, scholarly book. I’ve read the introduction twice and I am just not motivated to keep reading. I have had a couple of people tell me that it is a good book but it isn’t up to the same level as some of his other books. I’ve never read anything by Steven Furtick so I don’t have anything to compare it too. Hopefully I will be able to knock it out in the next day or so. Today is Wednesday and I have Bible studies so I know I won’t get much read before tomorrow.
