Here Comes The Sun

It’s amazing how much better I feel when the sun is shining. The temperature is still cool (hey…it’s October) but it isn’t dark and dreary outside. The sunlight really brings out the changing colors in the leaves. I look out at the hills and I feel blessed to be able to look at it every day. As much as I love the ocean, I think living in the mountains is better. I love going up in the higher elevations and looking out into the valleys. Psalm 19:1-6 comes to mind.

The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech, nor are there words,
    whose voice is not heard.
Their voice goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.
In them he has set a tent for the sun,
which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber,
and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy.
Its rising is from the end of the heavens,
and its circuit to the end of them,
and there is nothing hidden from its heat.

Another thing that always pops into my head when I am looking out over everything is The Beatles’ Here Comes The Sun. It is probably one of my favorite songs from the Fab Four. I love George Harrison’s voice and the mood of the song is uplifting.

The other song that comes to mind is actually based on Psalm 19. It’s by Phil Keaggy and comes from his Crimson And Blue album. Enjoy.

I guess I could share any number of songs that talk about the sun. The Beach Boy’s Warmth Of The Sun is another one.

I can feel the sun on my face as I write this. It’s a great feeling.

Grace and peace
