Perfect Pop Songs #1

You all know I like music. I am constantly making lists and ranking things so I figured this might be a good place to let some of that stuff fall. For the next several posts I am going to share some songs that I think are incredible, hence the title. Tonight’s entry is Men At Work’s 1983 hit Overkill. I turned thirteen the year it came out and got the album (Cargo) for my birthday. This has been one of my favorite songs ever since.

Grace and peace.

  1. Interesting. This song has never been one of my faves from them, but it’s solid. It lacked the whimsy (or something) of “Down Under” and “Who Can It Be Now?” Felt too serious at the time. And it also felt like it was a retread of “Underground” off the first album, one of my favorites. Not sure why I felt that way. But just so we’re clear, I do think it’s a good song.

    1. It was never my favorite but I started listening to it differently after it was used in the episode of “Scrubs”. I almost put that version of it up here.
